Position: Senior Controls Engineer
Compensation: $80 - $110 /hour, depending on experience
Location: Boulder, Colorado

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in designing and building data acquisition and process control systems for chemical processing. This is your chance to contribute to a cleaner, smarter world.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Design and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and control systems
- Own lifecycle of control system design from concept to handover
- Collaborate with engineering teams to define system requirements
- Lead integration efforts for PLC/HMI/SCADA systems
- Perform installation, configuration, and site acceptance testing
- Identify process optimization opportunities
- Program and troubleshoot Siemens S7 PLCs and Ignition HMI & SCADA
- Develop electrical design packages in SolidWorks Electrical
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 8 years of industry experience in controls and data acquisition
- 3 years of PLC programming experience
- Advanced experience with instrumentation such as voltage and temperature
- Strong knowledge of electrical design and industrial power distribution
- Proficiency with industrial automation communication protocols
- High level programming experience in C/C /C#, Python, or Javascript
- Experience implementing industrial electrical safety programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
- Proficiency with Siemens S7, Ignition, SolidWorks Electrical, and SQL databases
- Experience in chemical processing or industrial manufacturing
- Experience with control panel design per UL 508A
