Position: POS Engineer
Compensation: $60 - 74 /hour, depending on experience
Location: Canton, Massachusetts
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled POS Engineer to join their team!
This role involves designing and evaluating next-generation POS hardware and edge computing architecture in a high-volume Quick Service Restaurant environment. The position is onsite at a support center, providing an exciting opportunity to contribute to a large-scale project focused on future-proofing technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Evaluate current POS hardware and deployment models
- Design edge-based architectures for seamless offline operations
- Assess hardware and OS choices for future growth
- Deliver architecture recommendations and tradeoff analysis
- Define workload locations: POS endpoint vs store edge vs cloud
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- 5 years high volume POS engineering experience
- 3 years edge computing in large scale environment
- 5 years POS hardware experience
- 1 year Oracle Symphony & Oracle Res experience
- Experience with enterprise POS systems in QSR
Nice to Have Skills & Experience:
- Experience with NCR Hardware
- OS and Imaging experience
- Retail technology experience
- Containerized workloads at the edge
- PCI boundary and payment isolation experience
