Key ResponsibilitiesProgramming & Development: Write and refine G-code for new parts and optimize existing programs for complex, multi-axis Swiss machines (e.g., Citizen, Tsugami) using PartMaker. Tooling & Setup: Select cutting tools, inserts, collets, and design fixtures; perform machine setups, loading stock, and adjusting controls (feeds, speeds, depths).Quality Control: Read technical drawings, perform in-process and final inspections using precision tools, and adjust settings to meet specifications.Troubleshooting & Optimization: Diagnose and resolve programming or machining problems; improve processes for efficiency, tool life, and reduced waste.Collaboration & Documentation: Work with machinists, engineers, and operators; create setup sheets, work instructions, and maintain production logs.Maintenance: Perform basic machine maintenance, coolant management, and ensure a clean, safe work environment. Essential Skills & QualificationsProficiency in G-code, PartMaker software, and understanding of Swiss machine kinematics.Strong knowledge of feeds & speeds, material machinability, and tooling.Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings.Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM).Problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.Physical ability to lift moderate weight and stand for long periods.
