IMS Recruiting is partnering with a leading aerospace organization to identify a Business Unit Manager with strong business development and leadership expertise. This is a high-impact role responsible for P&L ownership, new business generation, cross-functional leadership, and customer relationship management.
About the Role
The Business Unit Manager will be accountable for driving business results through leadership of a cross-functional team (contracts, operations, engineering, and quality), customer growth, and operational execution. This individual will focus on value creation, ensure alignment with annual business plans, and play a key role in strategic business development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and guide the business unit team in the pursuit of profitable new business.
Develop annual and long-term business plans and align them with growth goals.
Build and execute a sales and marketing strategy to drive customer acquisition and retention.
Oversee customer relationships, proposals, contract negotiations, and bookings.
Provide oversight in cost estimation and value-based pricing.
Direct and support engineering priorities to align with customer and business objectives.
Prepare reports and present business unit metrics to senior leadership.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and 5S initiatives.
Provide full supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, performance management, coaching, and team development.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s Degree required; technical discipline strongly preferred.
7 years of combined experience across sales, operations, finance, and/or engineering (industrial/aerospace strongly preferred).
Proven business development background with experience in customer-facing growth roles.
Aerospace industry experience is required.
Previous leadership and team management experience strongly preferred.
Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple programs to maximize value creation.
Skilled in Microsoft Windows/Office environment and organizational best practices.
