Job Description

Imperial Ice is seeking a reliable, mechanically inclined Equipment Service & Delivery Technician to join our team. This hands-on position is responsible for delivering, installing, maintaining, repairing, and relocating commercial ice storage boxes and event equipment.

The ideal candidate has experience driving box trucks, strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to train employees on proper equipment handling and procedures. This position requires someone who can work independently, solve problems, and assist with various operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Repairs

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial ice storage boxes and related equipment at customer locations.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, inspections, and equipment cleaning.
• Identify mechanical and electrical issues and coordinate necessary repairs.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in safe, clean, and working condition.
  

Equipment Delivery & Installation

• Deliver, install, relocate, and pick up commercial ice boxes at customer locations.
• Safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment using company vehicles.
• Ensure proper equipment placement, setup, and operation.
• Maintain professional communication with customers during deliveries and service visits.
  

Event Equipment & Transportation

• Deliver, set up, relocate, and retrieve refrigerated trailers and event equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup and breakdown for special events.
• Operate company box trucks and trailers as needed.
• Support ice deliveries and other operational needs when necessary.
  

Employee Training & Development

• Train new and existing employees on proper equipment delivery, installation, removal, and maintenance procedures.
• Demonstrate safe loading, unloading, transportation, and equipment handling practices.
• Provide hands-on training for basic equipment troubleshooting and repairs.
• Ensure employees follow company safety standards and operating procedures.
• Assist management in evaluating employee performance and identifying training needs.
  

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of warehouse experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of box truck driving experience (26' Box Truck or Larger).
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic equipment troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to safely load, unload, transport, and move heavy equipment.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to train employees.
• Dependable, punctual, and willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Forklift certification.
• Experience in refrigeration, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical equipment repair.
• Experience towing, maneuvering, and setting up trailers.
• Previous experience training or mentoring employees.
• Experience with equipment installation, preventive maintenance, and field service operations.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment with appropriate assistance and tools.
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb, push, pull, and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to work in cold-temperature environments.
• Ability to safely perform physically demanding tasks.
