What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheet Metal Fabricator/Assembler position at Imperial Design?
We are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator/Assembler for our operations in Kentwood, MI. If you are mechanically inclined and have experience working with and assembling units or machines with sheet metal then you are asked to apply to this position.
Primary responsibilities:
- Utilizing various hand and power tools including grinders, tin snips, etc.
- Operating brake presses and shears to bend and cut sheet metal.
- Measuring and cutting metal/parts to length.
- Getting sheet metal to fit where it needs to go to serve its purpose.
- Operating a band saw.
- Reading and utilizing a tape measure.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience working with and fabricating sheet metal required.
- Experience operating press brakes and other fabrication equipment.
- Experience utilizing hand and power tools.
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
- The ability to read drawings/blueprints is preferred.
