The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Lead the maintenance and repair of high-precision injection molds, ensuring optimal performance and minimal production downtime
- Disassemble, clean, polish, and inspect tooling components, executing basic repairs and reassembly with meticulous attention to detail
- Diagnose and repair complex systems, including Hot Runner systems, valve gates, electrical controls, and hydraulic manifolds/cylinders
- Perform precision bench work and component restoration utilizing manual machining equipment (milling, grinding, turning) and laser welding technology
- Execute proactive Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules, managing tool life cycles to prevent catastrophic failures and maintain "no-compromise" quality standards
- Conduct bench testing for water leaks and assess electrical integrity of molds before they return to the production floor
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all repairs, inventory levels for spare parts, and continuous improvements made to the tooling
The background of the successful candidate must include the following:
- 1 or more years of experience specifically in maintaining and repairing molds within an injection molding environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate manual shop equipment (drill press, surface grinder, lathe, and mill) without direct supervision
- Proficiency in diagnosing Hot Runner and valve gate systems; laser welding experience is a significant advantage
- Skilled in the use of forklifts and overhead cranes for the safe rigging and transport of heavy mold components
- A solid and stable work history that reflects technical reliability (no "job hopping")
- Being a US citizen or Green Card holder with a residence within a 45-minute drive of Nashotah, WI
