Position Summary

The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate instruction that supports student growth and prepares children for future academic success. The teacher will create a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment while fostering creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning through hands-on and engaging instruction.

The ideal candidate is organized, patient, energetic, and passionate about early childhood and elementary education within a Christ-centered environment.

Pay Range: Depending on experience

What You’ll Do:

Classroom Instruction & Student Learning

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with kindergarten learning standards and school curriculum.
  • Teach foundational skills in reading, phonics, writing, math, science, social studies, and social-emotional learning.
  • Create hands-on learning experiences that encourage creativity, exploration, and critical thinking.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the unique learning needs of each student.
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes confidence, independence, respect, and kindness.

Classroom Management & Student Support

  • Establish and maintain classroom routines, expectations, and positive behavior management strategies.
  • Monitor student progress and provide ongoing support and encouragement.
  • Encourage students’ spiritual, emotional, social, and academic growth through daily interactions and classroom experiences.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.

Family Communication

  • Build strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular communication, progress updates, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Address parent concerns professionally and collaboratively.
  • Partner with families to support student success both inside and outside the classroom.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate student records, assessments, and documentation.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school events, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with administrators and fellow teachers to support school goals and student achievement.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and state educational requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field preferred
  • Previous teaching experience in kindergarten or early elementary education preferred
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Knowledge of child development and early learning practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer and technology skills
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
  • Must pass background screening and health requirements

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and actively engage with children throughout the day
  • Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors while maintaining a safe learning environment
