Our client, a global food manufacturer in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Production Supervisor for a 6 month contract position.
This person will oversee hourly production and logistics employees while ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for executing production plans, leading continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining food safety and quality standards, supporting employee development, and driving operational excellence in a union manufacturing environment.
*Work Week* (Rotating 13-hour Shift Schedule): 3 days one week, 4 days the next.
Shift A (day shift). Daily overtime and California double-time apply, resulting in earnings above the posted base hourly rate
Position Overview:
- The Production Supervisor will lead daily production and logistics activities for an assigned shift while supervising approximately 17–34 hourly employees.
- This individual will partner with plant leadership to ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining compliance with food safety, safety, quality, labor, and regulatory standards.
- The position also supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives, continuous improvement projects, employee engagement, and operational problem-solving.

- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to collaborate across all organizational levels
- Experience working in a union environment
Preferred:
- SAP experience
- PI experience (OSIsoft PI System, AVEVA PI System, PI Vision,PI ProcessBook)
- Union manufacturing experience
- Processing, packaging, and mechanical experience
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2 years of related manufacturing/operations experience OR
- High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of related manufacturing or production experience
- Experience supervising or leading manufacturing operations
- Strong understanding of production, logistics, safety, and quality processes
