Our client is seeking a highly skilled Injection Molding Process Manager / Technical Lead to drive process excellence, optimize production performance, and lead technical initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. You'll play a critical role in shaping processes, supporting new product launches, and ensuring safe, stable, and repeatable production across operations.
- Develop, optimize, and monitor injection molding processes to ensure part quality, cycle time efficiency, and process stability
- Establish and document robust process parameters using scientific molding principles
- Troubleshoot molding defects and process variation using structured root cause analysis
- Estimate cycle times and evaluate process capabilities to support production planning and cost analysis
- Lead mold sampling, qualification, and validation for new and existing tooling
- Provide technical input on mold design, including gating, venting, cooling, and part ejection
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and maintenance teams
- Support new product launches by developing scalable, repeatable molding processes
- Recommend tooling or process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and mold life
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to technicians, leads, and production staff
- Develop training materials and processing standards to elevate team capabilities
- Supervise team leads and support performance management and employee development
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and stop production when risks are identified
- Stay current on advancements in molding technologies, materials, and equipment
- Degree in Plastics Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 3–5 years of experience in injection molding process development and troubleshooting
- Experience with mold sampling, validation, and tooling evaluation
- Strong understanding of injection molding processes and defect analysis
- Knowledge of mold design fundamentals (gating, venting, cooling, ejection)
- Experience with scientific molding techniques and process validation
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and tooling designs
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- RJG Master Molder certification or equivalent scientific molding training
- Experience leading technical teams or supervising production staff
- Background in continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing
- Strong coaching and mentorship capabilities
- Experience supporting new product launches in a production setting
