What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Counselor position at IMPACT Academy?
This posting is for a PART-TIME Afterschool Counselor to work 2:30pm-6:00pm Monday through Friday. Substitute opportunities during the school day for additional hours.
Our center needs an enthusiastic, proactive employee to work with our afterschool program. Afterschool Counselors take care of our kids, keep them safe, and provide them with educational, enriching, structured and fun activities. Our employees must always provide our parents and families with excellent customer service. In addition, most of our children have special needs.
Responsibilities:
- Plan new activities for children weekly
- Take direction from therapists and incorporate therapeutic strategies
- Take care of children, keeping them engaged and on-task
- Change diapers & keep consistent bathroom schedule for all children
- Clean up throughout and at the end of your shift
- Lifting, sitting with, squatting, exercising, feeding, and playing with children
- Providing excellent customer service at all times
Job Requirements: The candidate we choose will be a self-starter who loves children and possesses a great attitude, the ability to work in a team environment, and has a disposition to provide the highest level of customer service.
The candidate would preferably possess hands-on experience with children between the ages of 5-21. Experience with children with special needs greatly preferred.
