What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Student Health Services - Part Time - Immaculata University position at Immaculata University?
The Assistant Director of Student Health Services is a part-time position (10 months/20 hours per week) and is a member of the Student Development and Engagement staff reporting directly to the Director of Student Health Services. The assistant director is responsible for assisting with administrative duties of the department, the planning and implementation of student-centered activities as well as providing student health care.
Responsibilities include:
- assess and treat illness or injury and administer care to students according to the treatment protocol of the Health Center.
- refer students to appropriate medical facilities when higher level of care is indicated.
- maintain student medical records with prompt and accurate documentation, ensure confidentiality, and maintain orderly filing.
- develop and maintain relationships with outside medical resources in the community to assist with the needs of the Immaculata campus community.
In collaboration with Director of Health Services:
- coordinate health education programs and services that focus on the promotion of healthy lifestyle choices, prevention of illness and the reduction of high-risk behaviors of college students while supporting the mission of the University. This includes but is not limited to, tabling and other passive outreach programs.
- assist in the training of resident hall staff and Safety Officers in health care and emergency procedures in cooperation with the Associate Dean of Students/Director of Resident Life and Housing and Director of Campus Safety and Protection. This training includes but is not limited to CPR/First Aid/AED training, and campus health care concerns as requested.
Serves as a resource for campus health information:
- assist campus Safety and respond to campus wide medical emergencies during Health Center hours.
- participate in divisional meetings as requested and provide reports as needed.
- maintain working knowledge of best care practices in the field of collegiate health care.
- maintain awareness of university resources to assist students with emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
- assist the Director in the event of a health care crisis to provide information, speak to concerned students and parents and educate the University community as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- registered nurse (R.N.) with current license in the state of Pennsylvania with active experience in direct patient care and current CPR certification.
- ability to act as a team player while working in collaboration with multiple departments across the University.
- professional and compassionate.
- proficient in Microsoft Office suite as well as a working knowledge of social media platforms.
- excellent oral and written skills and the ability to multitask.
- available for some evening and weekend work as required.
