The Department of Theology and Philosophy at Immaculata University invites applications for a one-year, full-time teaching position in theology for the 2025-2026 academic year. We seek a scholar committed to excellent undergraduate teaching and theological inquiry, whose approach aligns with the University's mission to form the whole person for leadership and service.

Minimum Requirements:
Required:
- Broad knowledge of the Catholic intellectual tradition and the ability to engage in theological dialogue that integrates faith, reason, and culture
- Competence in systematic theology (e.g., Christology, ecclesiology, theological anthropology) or scripture (e.g., biblical theology, New Testament studies), with the ability to contribute courses that explore the intersection of theology and culture
- Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate teaching, with a pedagogical approach that fosters theological reflection, student engagement, and critical inquiry
- Ability to teach in both in-person and online formats (experience with Moodle is a plus)
If a doctoral-level candidate is not available, a master's degree in theology (or a related field) with extensive college-level teaching experience and course development
Preferred Requirements:
- A doctorate (Ph.D. or Th.D.) or ABD in theology or a related field

Special Requirements
Teaching Load: 4-4 (four courses per semester)
Courses:
- Multiple sections of THE 109 Introduction to Theology
- Upper-level courses selected from the department's existing offerings in systematic theology, scripture, and thematic courses engaging contemporary culture and society.
- The successful candidate will have the freedom to design these courses within the existing curriculum but will not be responsible for creating new courses.
Instructional Format: While the majority of courses will be taught in person, some online teaching may be required. Candidates should be comfortable with both modalities.
