An electrical construction company is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to manage a portfolio of complex projects spanning multiple sectors and lines of business, providing on-site leadership for project teams and managing all aspects of multiple related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
What You'll Do:
- Oversee construction cost to complete and project financial projections, including cost projections by phase code
- Identify scope creep and mitigate risk and exposure
- Assemble design errors and project change orders, and communicate these to the project team
- Sell project change orders and protect project margin
- Prepare estimates and detailed project plans for all project phases
- Coordinate with the general superintendent and foreman on labor hours and completion targets
- Procure resources to meet project objectives within planned timeframes
- Manage day-to-day project activities and communicate impacts to the VP of Construction
- Provide status reporting on milestones, deliverables, risks, and issues
- Act as internal quality control for the project and participate in issue resolution
- Understand project specifications and ensure the team understands requirements
- Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors, and draft and submit budget proposals
- Coach, mentor, and supervise the project team, and complete performance reviews
- 7 years of experience in a project management role within the electrical construction industry
- CT journeyman or master electrician license
- Strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills, with the ability to lead across organizational levels
- Experience negotiating with vendors and subcontractors
- Experience drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending changes
- Track record of leading projects to on-time, on-schedule, within-budget completion
- Experience managing project teams of varying sizes, including internal and external resources
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction project management software
- Experience with full product lifecycle and development lifecycle methodologies
