Civil Engineer
Greenville, SC
A civil engineering design and construction firm in Greenville, SC is hiring a Civil Engineer to lead wastewater projects and provide supplemental civil engineering support out of its Greenville office. The role works closely with discipline lead engineers and local stakeholders across the planning, design, and construction phases of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Schedule: Full-time, primarily office-based with periodic construction site visits. Some non-traditional hours required to meet project deadlines. Occasional short travel (2 to 5 days).
Compensation: To be discussed with qualified candidates. Confirm with employer.
What You'll Do
You will perform engineering work across planning, design, and construction oversight phases for water and wastewater systems, including treatment plants, collection systems, runoff networks, and water supply facilities. The work spans conceptual layout development, cost studies, and feasibility analysis for new construction, with the depth of technical responsibility expected of a senior practitioner.
A significant portion of the role involves technical review and analysis. You will review and critique proposals, plans, and designs related to water and wastewater treatment systems, evaluate technical data for its impact on designs, and break down complex information to inform solution selection. You will also produce documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, and specifications that direct how systems are fabricated, constructed, modified, or maintained, and run stormwater analysis using software such as SSA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or ICPR.
Day-to-day, you will work with the discipline lead engineer to identify project scope changes, compile and verify technical data, and conduct feasibility studies for facilities such as treatment plants and collection networks.
