In support of this vision, the Business Continuity Manager oversees the Enterprise Process Framework for Business Continuity, supporting the organization’s mission to maintain an effective enterprise-wide business continuity program. This role is essential in advancing key initiatives, including enterprise-wide resiliency, Enterprise Crisis Management, and the broader Enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead implementation and development of business continuity plans, including overseeing testing and emergency response and recovery efforts.
- Provide guidance on operating strategies to keep business operations running efficiently within set recovery times.
- Conduct comprehensive Business Impact Assessments to identify critical functions and services.
- Evaluate potential operational, financial, and regulatory risks of business interruption.
- Gather and document requirements and translate them into technical process solutions developing and executing quality assurance test plans.
- Create end-user training materials and analyze complex business processes.
- Lead the development of effective, sustainable business continuity and other assigned projects becoming a subject matter expert for the business continuity and security and safety.
- Work with business partners to complete the annual business impact analysis (BIA) and risk analysis.
- Responsible for planning, monitoring, and reporting overall project performance for business continuity projects and other key strategic initiatives related to the achievement of the Tollway goals.
- Oversee the creation and delivery of awareness and training programs to educate staff on business continuity, technology recovery, and enterprise resilience.
- Serve as liaison between Tollway personnel and Tollway departments surrounding the assigned projects.
- Utilize system and functional design documentation including flowcharting and storyboarding. Interview staff members and stakeholders, documenting related project processes to create detailed specifications of complex workflows.
- Prepare process flow diagrams ensuring execution of project tasks avoiding potential project delays and proactively identifying potential issues and opportunities. Provide timely updates of forecasts within the projects plan.
- Maintain project plan quality and integrity through regular and thorough updates to both the Chief and Deputy Chief.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications
Education (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Emergency Management, or related field from a four-year accredited college.
Skills and Qualifications (Required)
- Five (5) years of experience in business continuity and disaster recovery planning with a proven record of leading crisis responses, making analytical decisions and applying critical thinking.
- Candidates with less than five years of experience may also qualify if they have a comparable combination of education, relevant certifications, and practical experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent analytical skills is required.
Education (Preferred)
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) certificate, or similar BCP certification.

Salary : $90,000 - $105,000
