Duties
- Greet patients and visitors with a friendly, professional demeanor, providing excellent patient service at the front desk
- Manage appointment scheduling using EMR system EClinicalWorks
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes
- Maintain accurate medical records by updating patient information and reviewing documentation for completeness and compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with intake procedures, including collecting patient information and explaining clinic policies
- Utilize multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, schedule appointments, and direct calls efficiently
- Support medical office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining organized patient files
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations by reviewing documentation thoroughly and adhering to HIPAA standards
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role within a clinical setting, but willing to train if you have non medical reception experience
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks is highly preferred
- Some knowledge of medical terminology practices is preferred
- Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines is advantageous
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
- Excellent phone etiquette combined with strong organizational skills to manage front desk operations efficiently
- Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable for understanding workflow and patient care procedures
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and attention to detail
