iLevelUP is a future-readiness platform built to support students through the complex journey of college and career preparation. It transforms what is often a confusing and overwhelming process into a guided, engaging, and interactive experience where learners complete quests, earn rewards, and gain confidence as they prepare for life after high school. The platform uses AI-driven personalization and a gamified design to make future planning more accessible and motivating for students who face barriers to traditional support systems.

Why We Exist

Many students, especially first-generation or underrepresented students, lack consistent access to trusted guidance on college applications, financial aid, scholarships, and career exploration. iLevelUP was created to bridge that gap by offering a comprehensive suite of tools and mentorship that meets students where they are — digitally, intuitively, and with clear pathways toward success.

Help iLevelUP understand how youth and young people experience digital tools for education, careers, financial capability, and life.

We are seeking a volunteer UX Researcher to plan and conduct ethical, accessible research that informs product priorities and design decisions for underserved youth.

Responsibilities

• Translate product questions into appropriate research plans and methods
• Prepare interview guides, usability studies, surveys, screeners, consent materials, and protocols
• Recruit only through approved channels and follow youth-safeguarding requirements
• Conduct moderated or unmoderated research with appropriate supervision and consent
• Analyze evidence, identify patterns, and communicate actionable insights
• Maintain a research repository, participant privacy, and clear study documentation
• Collaborate with product, UX/UI, content, accessibility, analytics, and program teams
• Distinguish findings from assumptions and avoid overstating small-sample results
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in UX research, human-computer interaction, education research, social science, service design, or usability
• Strong interviewing, facilitation, synthesis, writing, and research-ethics judgment
• Familiarity with qualitative and quantitative methods
• Commitment to accessibility, informed consent, privacy, and respectful youth-centered research
• Experience with remote research tools or education technology is helpful
  
  

This is a remote, recurring volunteer role. Volunteers may participate from anywhere in the United States. Expect approximately 5–8 hours per month.
