Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Support children’s development across multiple domains including literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Engage in working with children by providing individualized attention, encouragement, and support for diverse learning needs such as special education and early intervention programs.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment by adhering to childcare regulations and child welfare protocols.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods when appropriate to monitor progress and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians through clear communication skills to share insights on child development and classroom activities.
- Incorporate Montessori or other specialized teaching methods as applicable to enhance learning experiences.
- Manage classroom activities efficiently through effective classroom management techniques to ensure an organized learning space.
- Participate in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, toddler care, literacy education, and other relevant areas to stay current with best practices.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in preschool or daycare settings is essential, with preference given to candidates with preschool experience or private school experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development theories and practices, including early intervention strategies.
- Experience working with children of various ages within early childhood education frameworks such as Montessori or traditional methods.
- Proven ability in lesson planning tailored to developmental stages of young children across subjects like math, literacy, physical education, and social skills.
- Strong communication skills for working effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and a productive learning environment.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures used in early childhood assessments is advantageous but not mandatory.
