Position Summary:
The Audiovisual Production Manager will oversee all audiovisual infrastructure and audiovisual production for events and music production. This position requires in-depth knowledge of audiovisual infrastructure, as well as production services. The AV Production Manager builds strong, collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers. The primary responsibility of this position is to manage all aspects of audiovisual production at ilani.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes superior guest service.
- Maintains and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
- Works with management, peers, and vendors to design and implement solutions for audiovisual throughout the property.
- Manages production team and mentors the supervisor who will work independently to produce events and music productions.
- Oversees audiovisual infrastructure and collaborates closely with audiovisual engineer and IT leadership to ensure equipment is always in good working condition.
- Coordinates capital projects and works with other department managers to ensure needs are being met.
- Participates in forecasting the annual AV budget and responds to budget variances and overtime justification.
- Working with AV leadership to develop a long-term strategy and capacity planning for enterprise audiovisual needs.
- Works with AV leadership to establish and enforce audiovisual policies.
- Facilitates cross-department collaboration to ensure all departments agree with service offerings, new equipment installations, and on-going improvements.
- Troubleshoots audiovisual issues with team members and ensures that incidents are escalated and communicated to everyone impacted in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with vendors and holds vendors accountable to managed service agreements and ensures infrastructure adds and changes are tested and completed accurately.
- Writes procedural and training documentation and trains team members.
- Operates lift and rigs equipment with a strong focus on safety.
- Ensure all team members have attended appropriate safety training on lifting, operating lifts, and rigging equipment.
- Performs all tasks expected of AV Production Supervisor and AV Engineer as outlined in the position descriptions.
- Works with management, peers, and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning, implementation, and root cause analysis for systems.
- Creation and maintenance of troubleshooting and operational documentation for systems.
- Authors and peer-reviews documentation.
- Provides and receives cross-discipline training in order to ensure maximum availability of systems and equipment.
- Carries and responds to off-hours communications device, in order to provide 24x7 support for services.
- Actively pursues opportunities as an individual and as part of a group to improve knowledge, tools, and processes for systems under management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Production and four years of progressive audiovisual specialized experience.
- Working knowledge of responsibilities in position description.
- Associate degree in Audiovisual Production or related field and six (6) years of progressive audiovisual specialized experience.
- Working knowledge of responsibilities in position description.
- High School Diploma or GED and eight (8) years of progressive audiovisual specialized experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an audiovisual production environment.
- Two (2) years’ demonstrated experience working with Q-SYS.
- Demonstrated experience setting and executing National Act AV productions.
- Minimum of two (2) years as a production lead or audiovisual production leadership role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of AMX or Crestron.
- Experience in audiovisual production lighting, video, or sound.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
- Communicates effectively both verbally and in written form.
- Working knowledge of responsibilities in position description.
- Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
- Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
