Retail Bookshop Manager
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5:30PM
Pay: $27.28/hour

Ikon Search is seeking an experienced Retail Bookshop Manager to lead daily operations at a prestigious Non Profit international institution in the East Side of Manhattan. This is an opportunity to manage an established bookstore, lead a team of seven employees, and oversee everything from merchandising and inventory to purchasing and sales performance.
We’re looking for a hands-on retail leader who can motivate a team, maintain high standards, and keep operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and manage a team of seven employees, including a supervisor.
- Oversee daily store operations, scheduling, training, and team performance.
- Manage inventory, purchasing, receiving, pricing, and merchandising.
- Monitor sales, prepare reports, and oversee POS and cash-handling procedures.
- Maintain an organized, welcoming store and excellent customer service.
- Ensure compliance with store policies and operational procedures.
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years of retail management experience.
- Experience with merchandising, purchasing, and inventory management.
- Proven ability to lead teams, set expectations, and address performance issues.
- Familiarity with POS and inventory systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Bookstore, specialty retail, or museum store experience is a plus.
Position Details
- Pay: $27.28/hour
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM
- Duration: 6-month contract *Possibility to extend longer
- Location: Manhattan, NY
- Holidays: Paid time off & Holidays
- Work Setting: On-site
