About the Opportunity
A highly regarded midsize law firm is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join its growing Marketing & Business Development team. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this role supports firmwide marketing and client development initiatives by assisting with proposals, market research, competitive intelligence, and business development operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of RFPs, proposals, pitches, and client presentations, including research, drafting, editing, and coordinating production.
- Conduct market, industry, competitor, and prospective client research to support business development initiatives and strategic pursuits.
- Maintain the firm's experience database, representative matters, credential sheets, attorney biographies, and practice descriptions, ensuring information is accurate and current.
- Support the preparation and submission of major legal directories and rankings, including Chambers, Legal 500, Best Lawyers, and similar publications.
- Maintain and organize client and prospect lists within the firm's CRM, monitor engagement activity, and identify opportunities that support business development planning.
- Prepare research briefs, background materials, talking points, and follow-up materials for attorney client meetings and business development initiatives.
- Monitor trends and developments across key industries and provide timely competitive and market intelligence to attorneys and practice groups.
- Utilize AI-powered tools to improve proposal development, research, competitive intelligence, and business development workflows while helping standardize best practices across the team.
- Coordinate with marketing and business development colleagues to produce high-quality proposal materials and other client-facing collateral.
- Assist with special marketing, reporting, and business development projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 2–4 years of business development, marketing, or client development experience, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong research, writing, and editing skills with the ability to produce polished work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with attorneys and firm leadership.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with CRM platforms such as InterAction, Salesforce, or similar.
- Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, or similar) to enhance research, writing, and workflow efficiency is preferred.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
