MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a PRN Emergency General Surgeon to join its premier surgical team in Mason City, IA. This dynamic, high-volume, technologically advanced practice offers the full spectrum of surgical services.
Opportunity Highlights
MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is a 346-bed full-service community health system with a Level III trauma center. With 300 physicians and providers, it serves more than 400,000 inpatients and outpatients annually. MercyOne North Iowa is a teaching institution offering residency programs in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and fellowship in Cardiology, among others. MercyOne North Iowa holds management agreements with seven rural primary care hospitals, making it the premier rural health care delivery network of northern Iowa and southern Minnesota.

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is seeking a PRN Emergency General Surgeon to join its premier surgical team in Mason City, IA. This dynamic, high-volume, technologically advanced practice offers the full spectrum of surgical services.
Opportunity Highlights
- Join the dynamic team of 3 General Surgeons, 1 Acute/Trauma General Surgeon, and 2 PA’s
- PRN Coverage for Emergency General Surgery- very flexible scheduling
- EMR: EPIC
- Shift length: 24 hours (12 in house; 12 call)
- PRN Rate: $265.80/hour
- All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of references, background check, pre-employment physical and drug screen.
- Graduate of a medical/osteopathic medical school is required.
- Demonstrated competency as a physician by completion of an appropriate residency program
- Must be able to obtain Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa medical staff privileges.
- Above average communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team.
- Licensed or eligible for State of Iowa physician license; Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate.
