Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain advanced process control systems utilizing programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and robotics platforms such as Fanuc.
- Program and troubleshoot robotic systems, including robot programming for automation tasks involving mechanical tooling, machining, and vision inspection systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and AutoCAD drawings to support system installation, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis on process deviations or equipment failures to identify underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize lean manufacturing practices, reduce waste, and improve overall process efficiency.
- Support CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) compliance by ensuring all automation processes meet regulatory standards.
- Utilize SolidWorks for designing or modifying mechanical components related to automation equipment; employ AutoCAD for detailed schematic work.
- Perform regular system audits, calibration checks, and preventative maintenance on control hardware including sensors, actuators, vision systems, and tooling.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on automation, robotics (Fanuc preferred), and process control systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in tooling, machining, schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated ability to program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).
- Familiarity with robot programming techniques for industrial automation applications involving vision inspection systems.
- Experience working within regulated environments following CGMP standards is highly desirable.
- Skilled in root cause analysis methodologies to resolve complex process or equipment issues efficiently.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing or modifying automation components; knowledge of vision inspection system integration is a plus.
