Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Medical Assistant Back Office to join our dynamic OBGYN healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with accuracy
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort
- Support physicians with basic clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound dressing, and specimen collection
- Operate and maintain EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems for accurate documentation of patient encounters
- Assist with diagnostic procedures including ultrasound preparation support when applicable
- Manage medical supplies inventory and ensure clinical areas are clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers to ensure seamless patient care delivery
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency protocols to support urgent care or emergency medicine needs
Skills
- Strong understanding of OBGYN relevant to outpatient or inpatient care
- Experience working in hospital environments or hospital medicine units; familiarity with Level I trauma centers preferred
- Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures
- Proficiency in EHR systems for documentation and patient record management
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification to respond effectively in emergencies
- Excellent patient service skills—compassionate communication and attentive listening are essential
- Familiarity with ICD coding for accurate billing and record-keeping purposes
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in clinical assessments and procedures
- Ability to operate medical equipment and assist in procedures when necessary
