Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Operations Manager to lead and optimize our multi-branch operations. This is a pivotal role reporting directly to the President, requiring strategic alignment with executive vision and the ability to translate that vision into actionable, measurable outcomes.
The successful candidate will play a central role in scaling the company toward a target of $100 million in annual revenue within the next decade; it is a strategic objective that demands operational excellence, leadership maturity, and a deep understanding of scalable systems and team development.
This role is designed for someone prepared to contribute meaningfully and grow into a Director or Vice President-level position as the organization evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all operational functions, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer expectations.
- Lead and manage labor, productivity, quality control, and safety across both project management and field operations.
- Develop and enforce quality assurance protocols for field personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Set performance goals, mentor staff, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and strategic growth.
- Maintain full financial accountability for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)—this is a core deliverable.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning aimed at achieving $100M annual revenue through operational expansion, talent development, and market positioning.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within civil construction.
- Proven track record managing $20M in annual expenditures.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and strategic resource planning.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to develop and implement scalable processes in evolving environments.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Resilient in the face of ambiguity and capable of creating structure from chaos.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, performance standards, and best practices.
- Amiable yet assertive personality with the ability to build trust across teams and clients.
- Experience in sales or client-facing roles is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISPWC, ASTM and ITD standards.
