Description
We are seeking a highly experienced Grading Superintendent with extensive hands-on leadership in mass excavation and civil construction. This individual will supervise daily grading operations, oversee project sequencing, coordinate manpower and equipment, and maintain schedule and production goals. The ideal candidate has 15 years of experience in mass excavation and grading and can successfully manage 2–6 active job sites per day.
This role requires strong technical knowledge of cut/fill operations, heavy equipment utilization, GPS grade control, and project quality standards. Equally important is the ability to lead crews, work directly with customers, and forecast equipment and resource needs.
Qualifications
- 15 years in grading, mass excavation, and civil construction
- Extensive experience managing multiple job sites daily
- Strong background in dozers, excavators, haul trucks, graders, wheel loaders, and related equipment
- Experience with GPS grade control systems (Trimble, Topcon, etc.)
- Ability to interpret civil plans, grade sheets, and project specifications
- Knowledge of rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards
- Proficient with computers and basic construction technology
- OSHA 30
- CDL preferred; clean MVR required
- Amiable, detail-oriented, and strong leadership presence
- Willingness to travel between job sites as needed
Experience:
- Civil construction & grading: 15 years
- Leadership/Superintendent: 10 years preferred
