Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable and forward-thinking Operations Manager to lead and optimize our multi-branch operations. This is a pivotal role reporting directly to the President, requiring strategic alignment with executive vision and the ability to translate that vision into actionable, measurable outcomes.
The successful candidate will play a central role in helping the company grow (double revenue growth in the next 3 years).
This role is designed for someone prepared to contribute meaningfully and grow into a Director or Vice President-level position as the organization evolves.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily operational functions, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer expectations.
- Lead and manage labor, productivity, quality control, and safety across both project management and field operations.
- Develop and enforce quality assurance protocols for field personnel.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.
- Set performance goals, mentor staff, and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and strategic growth.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and identify areas for improvement for consistent performance monitoring
- Maintain full financial accountability for Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)—this is a core deliverable.
- Experience interpreting P&L statements and driving profitability through cost control and value engineering in order to demonstrate advanced financial acumen.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity for overall process improvement.
- Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and maintain operational continuity during unexpected challenges in order to mitigate crisis management.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning aimed at achieving doubled revenue in the next 3 years.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in operations management, preferably within civil construction.
- Proven track record managing $20M in annual expenditures.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and strategic resource planning.
- Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to develop and implement scalable processes in evolving environments.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Resilient in the face of ambiguity and capable of creating structure from chaos.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, performance standards, and best practices.
- Amiable yet assertive personality with the ability to build trust across teams and clients.
- Experience in sales or client-facing roles is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISPWC, ASTM and ITD standards.
