Position Summary
Icy Strait Point Culinary Assistant must be comfortable communicating and conversing with staff and guests. The Culinary Assistant must have the ability to operate a computerized cash register.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Conduct all activities and decisions according to Icy Strait Point’s guiding principles: BAP: Best, Authentic, Profitable Setting up and sanitizing workstations. Following prep lists created by Lead Culinary Host. Measuring ingredients and seasonings and preparing cooking ingredients for each tour start time. Ensuring all food items are properly stored and easily accessible. Assist with the set up and cleaning for each tour. Assist with keeping track of ingredients inventory. Maintaining a clean, orderly, and sanitized kitchen, including taking out trash. Participate in all required training. Other duties as assigned. Requirements:
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils. A team player with good communication skills Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure. Precious experience in a commercial kitchen desired. Willingness to work a flexible schedule. Have or be able to attain ServSafe Manager Certification and TAP’s Card. Have or be able to attain First Aid/CPR certification. Able to lift 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and walk 5 miles daily. Willing to live in a remote, rural community for a minimum of 6 months per year.
