Icon Protection
Cleveland, OH Full Time
POSTED ON 8/5/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/27/2026

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Vice President of Finance serves as a core member of the executive leadership team and the company’s forward-looking financial strategist for its United States business. Reporting directly to the President, this leader is responsible for anticipating the financial implications of enterprise decisions before they are made — bringing a strong, independent voice to the leadership table, looking around corners to identify emerging risks and opportunities, and influencing peer executives with rigorous, objective financial insight. The VP of Finance directs financial strategy, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), enterprise capital allocation (including real estate and facility investments), and financial advisory support for mergers & acquisitions, while overseeing financial operations, risk management, tax compliance, and financial reporting. This executive pairs that strategic partnership with uncompromising stewardship — ensuring strict governance, financial integrity, and compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

TASKS:

Strategic Leadership & Enterprise Decision Support

  • Serve as a strong, influential voice at the executive leadership table — shaping enterprise strategy, challenging assumptions, and ensuring the financial implications of major decisions are understood before commitments are made.
  • Anticipate and quantify the financial impact of operational, commercial, and strategic initiatives across the business, proactively identifying risks and opportunities on the horizon and advising peer leaders accordingly.
  • Influence and partner with peer executives across sales, operations, and supply chain, translating financial analysis into clear, actionable business recommendations that drive enterprise value.
  • Own the enterprise capital allocation framework, including capital expenditure governance, investment return (ROI) hurdles, prioritization of competing capital demands, and post-investment performance reviews.
  • Lead financial strategy for corporate real estate, including lease-versus-buy analysis, facility and footprint optimization, and evaluation of site investments.
  • Act as a financial advisor on M&A transactions — partnering with the VP of M&A and the President to evaluate opportunities, assess financial implications, and support diligence and deal analysis.

Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the annual budgeting, rolling forecast, and long-range strategic financial planning processes across all business units.
  • Conduct scenario modeling and financial evaluations for expansion, joint ventures, and other strategic growth initiatives — stress-testing key assumptions to inform executive decision-making.
  • Evaluate revenue streams, margin drivers, and operational unit economics to optimize profitability.

Operational Control, Accounting & Statutory Reporting

  • Direct accounting, consolidation, and reporting processes to ensure strict adherence to U.S. GAAP standards.
  • Oversee cash flow management, treasury operations, and banking relationships.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal financial control frameworks (including Sarbanes-Oxley / SOX compliance where applicable) to prevent fraud and safeguard organizational assets.

Legal, Regulatory & Tax Compliance

  • Ensure enterprise-wide compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, tax codes, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Lead the preparation for internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with General Counsel and Ethics/Compliance teams regarding applicable laws.

Enterprise Leadership & Team Development

  • Directly manage and mentor a team of controllers, analysts, and FP&A managers.
  • Serve as a primary financial advisor to the President, executive leadership, and the Board of Directors — presenting financial performance, forward-looking outlooks, and early warnings on emerging risks and opportunities.
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Minimum of 15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role (VP of Finance, CFO, or Head of FP&A / Strategic Finance) within at least a $200M organization. Demonstrated track record as a strategic business partner — anticipating the financial implications of business decisions, influencing non-finance executives, and shaping enterprise strategy beyond managing accounting operations. Experience serving as a financial advisor on M&A transactions preferred, including valuation modeling, due diligence support, and financial evaluation of opportunities. Experience leading enterprise capital allocation and capital expenditure decisions required; exposure to corporate real estate strategy (lease-versus-buy analysis, facility investment, footprint planning) strongly preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or advanced degree strongly preferred. Proven experience with financial consolidation, treasury management, and corporate tax strategy. Expert knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting frameworks, financial reporting, and enterprise risk management. Hands-on experience optimizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Exceptional commercial acumen, executive presence, and the ability to influence and build credibility with peers, the President, and the Board of Directors. Expert aptitude for problem-solving, data analysis, scenario and predictive modeling, and translating complex financial concepts for non-financial audiences. Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be capable of managing long-distance transit, including domestic flights, overnight travel, and consecutive multi-day trips. Must be able to navigate, inspect, and evaluate diverse workplace environments, including corporate offices, manufacturing and fulfillment facilities, and other institutions. Position requires the ability to travel locally and nationally, including overnight and multi-day business trips via commercial air, ground transportation, or personal vehicle. When operating a motor vehicle for business purposes, the individual must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean motor vehicle record (MVR) acceptable to the company’s insurance carriers. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required, with a willingness to travel as needed.
