Software Developer - Back-end developer (Cloud Infrastructure)

Your Role And Responsibilities

• Design & Implement IBM Cloud IaaS API & Network cloud infrastructure features/services to be deployed on the IBM Production data centers worldwide.
• Hold code reviews of the developed code to ensure correctness as per the established code quality criteria.
• Participate in design and code reviews of other projects within the team & resolve code review comments which might involve design &/or code changes.
• Develop internal dev test scenarios and get them reviewed by the team as well as the QA team. Perform functional/integration test of the developed code on internal noncustomer data centers & fix any issues that are found. Work with the QA team to share internal test details, so a formal QA can be planned on the developed code, to be executed by the QA team.
• Document the developed features &/or update existing documentation for internal reference.
• Participate in meetings/scrums with leads, team members & architect for design level discussions, progress updates and offer actionable input.
• Fix any QA/customer issues after working with them to recreate & triage.
• Be on pager duty during assigned days to triage/fix issues reported by internal stakeholder/customers for network control plane features deployed on production data centers.

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 5-8 years experience in software development & testing, using software engineering principles, to carry out the above job responsibilities.
• Possess solid cloud api & networking experience.
• Expert knowledge in one or more of the following languages (Go, Python, Java or C/C ).
• Strong knowledge & experience working with the Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge and skills in REST APIs, GRPC, and JSON.
• Able to quickly learn new technologies and implement prototypes in a timely fashion.
• Demonstrated communication, problem-solving and analytical skills.
  
  

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

• Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure development.
• Experience in large systems software design and development.
• Experience in cloud api & networking software development.
• Experience with networking concepts/protocols such as TCP/IP, floating IP, subnet, routing, bridges, SDN is beneficial.
• Knowledge of load balancing, firewalls and VPN appliances.
