Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead project teams to deliver solutions that meet client expectations, using appropriate business measurements, terms, and conditions as outlined in the project charter, agreement, or contract.
- Agile Facilitation: Facilitate Scrum events such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospectives. Coach the development team in self-organization and cross-functionality, addressing team dynamics and removing blockers. Expert knowledge in agile principles and methodologies including techniques, practices and ceremonies, coaching, fundamentals of iterative and incremental development as well as software development processes.
- Risk and Issue Management: Apply techniques for planning, resource allocation, tracking, change control, and financial and technical risk and issue management. Ensure teams embody agile values and principles while adhering to agreed-upon processes and practices.
- Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication with the project team, stakeholders, and clients. Provide regular project status updates and ensure transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Resource Allocation and Governance: Oversee resource allocation and establish project governance models, leading to successful project outcomes.
- Communication/Negotiation: Advises other professionals. Effectively utilize group dynamics. Negotiates to define approaches and goals.
- Problem Solving: Recognizes complex problems related to functional objectives. Applies creativity and judgment to developmental work on various projects within the business environment. Analyzes situations and implements solutions, or develops new system elements, procedures, or processes.
- Contribution/Leadership: Provides ongoing technical and operational guidance to lead professional work teams, conduct special projects, or manage department(s) (national or international). Understands the department's functional mission and vision. Utilizes expertise to directly influence individuals outside the department or function. Sometimes no precedent exists. - Impact on Business/Scope: Responsible for department results and for activities and projects involving cross-functional teams. - Project Management Methodologies: Demonstrated experience in various project management methodologies, including IBM Design Thinking, Predictive (Waterfall), Agile, DevOps, Scrum, SAFe, and SDLC.
Master's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. An MBA or relevant advanced degree would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, preferably with a focus on Agile methodologies.
- Proven track record in leading project teams and facilitation of Scrum events.
- Demonstrated experience in IBM Design Thinking, Predictive (Waterfall), Agile, DevOps, Scrum, SAFe, and SDLC methodologies.
- PMI/PMP certification.
- Strong knowledge of IT concepts like open-source, cloud computing, servers, storage, and networking.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
- Knowledge of hybrid cloud solutions and IBM's services is a plus.
