Accounting Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accounting Specialist to support our accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting functions.
The Accounting Specialist will play an important role as the organization prepares for an upcoming audit. While the current accounting team focuses on establishing efficiencies and strengthening internal controls, this position will help ensure accurate, timely, and well-organized financial transactions and records.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of accounting principles and best practices, strong attention to detail, and the ability to analyze financial information while managing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and maintain Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions.
- Perform general accounting and financial record keeping activities.
- Enter, review, and reconcile financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation as requested.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of efficient accounting processes and internal controls.
- Identify data discrepancies, research issues, and assist with timely resolution.
- Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyze financial information.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling financial information.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of accounting or related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with spreadsheets and financial data.
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
- Experience using accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
