What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at E3 Displays?
Accountant I
E3 Displays | Phoenix, AZ (On-site, Full-Time)
Engineered To Display Excellence
About E3 Displays
E3 Displays is a Phoenix-based manufacturer of custom touchscreen displays. Since 2007 we have designed, optically bonded, and built displays for Military, Medical, Avionics, and Commercial customers. We support our customers from early design through manufacturing and shipment, and we do our assembly on-shore here in Arizona.
We are a team of about 40 people in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. Products and customer needs change often, so no two months look exactly the same. Being a small company also means your work gets noticed. Everyone here can see how what they do affects the business.
The Role
As an Accountant I, you will help keep the financial records of a real manufacturing operation accurate and up to date. Your main focus will be accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R). Over time you will also work on collections, monthly sales/use tax reporting, credit card reconciliations, and support for cost accounting and treasury.
This is a good fit for someone early in their accounting career who wants more than data entry. You will see how purchasing, production, sales, and the warehouse turn into numbers on a financial statement, and you will pick up hands-on experience in manufacturing finance and financial analysis.
What You Will Do
Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Process vendor invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and manage vendor advance payments
• Handle customer billing and customer deposits
• Review aging reports and follow up on collections
• Make sure all A/P and A/R reports are accurate
Month-End and Year-End Close
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts for A/P and A/R
• Reconcile income statement accounts tied to A/P expenses
• Help the team hit close deadlines
Reporting and Analysis
• Help prepare financial statements, cash projections, and management reports
• Support budgeting and forecasting
Compliance and Audits
• Prepare monthly sales/use tax reporting and support tax compliance
• Provide accurate documentation on time for internal and external audits
• Follow GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting procedures
Cross-Functional Work
• Work with Purchasing, Sales, the Warehouse, and sometimes Operations to keep financial data accurate from purchase order to payment
What Success Looks Like
• First 90 days: You learn our A/P and A/R processes and our ERP system (Epicor), and you process transactions accurately on your own.
• First 6 months: You own your part of month-end close, deliver reconciliations on time, and know who to talk to in other departments when something doesn't match.
• First year: You are a trusted member of the accounting team, you spot problems before they grow, and you are ready to take on more cost accounting, treasury, and analysis work.
How Our Values Show Up in This Role
Our core values spell ACTION. Here is what they look like in accounting:
• Accountability: Your reconciliations are accurate, and when you find a mistake you raise it quickly.
• Commitment: You stay with it through month-end close until the numbers are right.
• Teamwork: You work with Purchasing, Sales, and the Warehouse as partners, not just as sources of paperwork.
• Innovation: You look for ways to make processes simpler, faster, or more automated.
• Ownership: If an invoice, payment, or report is wrong, you treat fixing it as your job.
• No excuses: You meet deadlines and keep your commitments, with integrity.
Our Quality Policy, “Understand, Deliver & Continually Improve,” applies to accounting too. Understand what the business needs, deliver reliable and accurate financial information, and keep improving how we work.
