Position Overview
Industrial Accessories Company (IAC) and Adelphi Construction are seeking a dynamic and high-impact accounting professional to join our Finance team in a key Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Specialist role. This is not simply a transactional accounting position. This role will have visibility and interaction across multiple areas of the business, including accounting, operations, project teams, leadership, purchasing, and field construction support operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations across IAC and Adelphi Construction
- Manage collections strategy, aging reports, payment follow-up, and customer/vendor communication
- Accurately process invoices, payment applications, vendor statements, and related financial transactions
- Assist with cash application, reconciliations, reporting visibility, and operational accounting support
- Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies within AR/AP functions
- Support ERP optimization initiatives tied to Spectrum Viewpoint
- Collaborate cross-functionally with accounting, purchasing, operations, project managers, and leadership
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records supporting audit and reporting requirements
- Assist in strengthening internal controls, accounting workflows, and financial processes
- Provide a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and customer service internally and externally
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and solutions-oriented team environment
Qualifications
- Experience within Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, accounting operations, or related finance functions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Process improvement and continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on in a fast-paced environment
- Strong sense of ownership, accountability, professionalism, and initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- ERP system experience preferred; Spectrum Viewpoint experience is a plus
- Construction, industrial, manufacturing, EPC, or project-based accounting experience is helpful but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
