Core & Shell Construction Lead – Pharmaceutical Construction Program
On-site – Indiana – 12-Month Contract – Full-Time (40 hrs/week OT with approval)
Are you a senior construction professional ready to lead core and shell execution on a high-profile pharmaceutical project? We’re looking for an experienced Core & Shell Construction Lead to take ownership of field supervision, contractor coordination, and delivery of structural and building envelope works across a complex, highly regulated facility.
This is a key site leadership role where your ability to supervise teams, drive installation quality, and deliver CSA core and shell packages through to completion and handover will be critical to project success.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the site lead for all core and shell construction activities, with a strong focus on supervision, coordination, and delivery
- Oversee and direct supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors across civil, structural, and building envelope scopes
- Plan, sequence, and manage works including earthworks, concrete, structural steel, roofing, cladding, and façade systems
- Drive safe, compliant, and high-quality execution across all core and shell packages
- Lead completion efforts including inspections, punch list management, and turnover readiness
- Coordinate closely with MEP, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to ensure buildings are handed over ready for fit-out and systems installation
- Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Provide technical guidance and field leadership to resolve construction challenges, clashes, and sequencing constraints
- Monitor productivity, manpower, and subcontractor performance to maintain schedule commitments
- Champion site safety culture and ensure strict adherence to all safety requirements
- Ensure building envelope integrity, structural quality, and compliance with design requirements
- Maintain accurate reporting of progress, inspections, and turnover documentation
- Support client walkdowns, inspections, and formal handover of core and shell areas
What You Bring
- 10 years of experience in civil, structural, and architectural (CSA) construction
- Proven track record in a senior supervisory or construction lead role on large-scale projects
- Strong background delivering core and shell scopes including structural and envelope packages
- Demonstrated experience driving projects through completion, punch management, and handover
- Solid understanding of construction sequencing, phasing, and turnover requirements
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and subcontractor management skills
- Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
- Experience enforcing safety, quality, and productivity standards on complex job sites
Preferred Experience
- Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated project experience
- Experience delivering facilities through shell completion ahead of MEP/fit-out phases
- Familiarity with phased handover and turnover processes
- Background on large-scale, fast-paced, multi-discipline construction programs
