Role Overview
The Parts Distribution Center (PDC) Manager manages the daily activities of a dealer-facing tier-one distribution center. Monitors inventory accuracy levels to manage quality, minimize loss, and maximize revenue. The PDC Manager ensures that parts are processed on time to the appropriate KPIs and established timelines. May be responsible for establishing and managing relationships with chosen vendors. Additionally, the PDC Manager organizes the daily operation plan while setting the weekly objectives to align with the Mobis overall objectives. The PDC Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. In this strategic role, the manager will oversee the performance of the operations, labor management, equipment/safety, customers, inventory management, and security. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals and KPIs are met and adhering to approved budgets. Extensive knowledge of departmental and operational processes. The PDC manager is responsible for the overall performance of the Distribution Center, including operational, customer satisfaction, service performance, financial and administrative. The objective is to meet or exceed the stated KPIs, goals, and expressed Mobis standards. The PDC Manager's responsibility is to stay apprised of the evolving and changing objectives in step with the entire organization.
Key Responsibilities

- Direct the operations of the distribution center management team to achieve stated goals and KPI objectives. Key measurables include safety, protection of revenues and profits, and customer satisfaction. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques; create programs to supervise, and counsel subordinates when appropriate.
- Ensure the utilization of systems, procedures, and processes for operating and managing physical facilities, human resources, equipment, and products in a profitable manner.
- Maintain appropriate contact with Dealers for the purpose of process improvement, customer service, and providing recommendations for policy development.
- Develop and administer the annual operating budget. Implement and manage a system of controls to ensure that service levels and operational performance goals are met within budgetary constraints.
Key Performance Indicators
- KPIs include quality, productivity, lead time, put away pending, pick denial, OS&D, cycle counts, and OT. Each KPI is reviewed annually and a new standard is established. Each KPI must be met or exceeded.
- Experience in multi-facilities and multi-state management preferred.
- Strong system knowledge in warehouse distribution networks.
- Knowledge of warehouse operating systems with advanced scanner software and management of the equipment used to manage warehouse functions (R/F, SCM technology, Printers, etc.).
- Experience in starting/creating a new warehouse facility.
Work Schedule & Travel Requirements
- Monday through Friday, some weekend availability is required.
- Occasional overnight travel (up to 20%) by land and/or air.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Master’s degree preferred in facilities management, business, or related functional area to work responsibilities.
Experience Requirements
- Requires a minimum of 5-7 years experience in facilities, new facility start-up from scouting locations, building construction, permits, interior requirements and vendor management, contract reviews, lease agreements, negotiations, and vendor contract management. Implemented system upgrades and experience with PDAs.
- Managerial experience (with staff management) in administration and/or facilities functions.
- Proficient computer skills: e-mail, record keeping, routine database, word processing, spreadsheets.
