Position Summary
The Director of Business Development is responsible for identifying, managing, and growing new business relationships while developing strategic initiatives that drive profitability and sustainable growth. This hands-on leadership role combines traditional business development with forward-looking market strategy, ensuring alignment with company vision, mission, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development plan aligned with company goals and profitability targets.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline of partners and opportunities in key strategic markets.
- Lead new business and opportunity reviews with the executive team to assess and approve strategic direction.
- Negotiate and close high-value contracts, ensuring alignment with company operations and profitability goals.
- Conduct market, trend, and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth integration and execution of new partnerships.
- Manage business modeling, financial forecasting, and pricing strategies for new opportunities.
- Represent Hydro Engineering Innovation at industry events, conferences, and networking engagements.
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold the company’s values in all interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive experience in business development, strategy, or partnership management.
- Proven track record in industrial product sales or related manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success in structuring, negotiating, and closing major deals.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel, PowerPoint, CRM systems).
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and results-driven; thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
- Ability to travel up to 30%.
