About the Role
As the Director of Business Development, you’ll lead all business growth initiatives for Robinson Brothers Construction. This role is both strategic and hands-on — you’ll develop relationships, pursue high-value opportunities, and ensure that every project you bring in aligns with our commitment to quality and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within industrial, commercial and retail sectors. Strong focus in the indusrial tilt up market.
- Develop and maintain relationships with owners, developers, architects etc.
- Manage the full BD cycle — from market research and lead generation to proposal, negotiation, and close.
- Partner with estimating, operations, and finance to ensure accurate bids and profitable projects.
- Track and report on pipeline metrics, hit rates, and market trends.
- Represent Robinson Brothers Construction at industry events and networking opportunities.
- Contribute to strategic planning, annual revenue goals, and marketing initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in construction business development, estimating, or project management (preferably in commercial or civil construction).
- Strong understanding of contract structures, bid processes, and project profitability.
- Proven track record of winning and managing large-scale construction projects.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Existing network in Utah’s construction and development community a strong plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $120,000–$150,000 (depending on experience)
- Commission: 10% of gross profit from originated projects (paid quarterly after project close)
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $250,000–$300,000
