Senior Vice President – IT Audit
Location: New York
Overview
A global financial services firm is seeking a Senior Vice President to join its Internal Audit team. This role will lead the expansion and execution of IT audit coverage across infrastructure, information security, and business-aligned technology. The position plays a key role in assessing risk and control environments while partnering with global audit teams. Responsibility for 3 staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex IT audits and risk assessments across infrastructure, security, and applications
- Oversee audit planning, risk assessment, and continuous monitoring for assigned areas
- Evaluate design and effectiveness of internal controls and identify gaps
- Develop audit scope, work programs, and deliver high-quality audit reports
- Manage and coach audit team members, providing feedback and guidance
- Engage with business and technology stakeholders to understand processes and communicate findings
- Ensure compliance with internal audit methodology and regulatory expectations
- Collaborate with global audit teams to ensure appropriate IT coverage
- Maintain high-quality documentation and deliverables that support audit conclusions
- Promote strong professional standards, accountability, and stakeholder relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., IT, finance, cybersecurity, or business)
- 10 years of experience in IT audit, technology risk, or related areas
- Prior team management/ leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, security, and control frameworks
- Experience with frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, NIST, or similar
- Professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIA, CPA) preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Alteryx) preferred
