What are the responsibilities and job description for the Control Systems Engineer position at HW3?
We’re supporting a Lead Control Systems Engineer opportunity with a well-established industrial automation organization that partners closely with Emerson and serves process industries such as oil & gas, chemical, and manufacturing.
This is a hands-on, senior-level role for an engineer who enjoys owning automation projects end-to-end — from design and programming through commissioning and startup.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design, programming, testing, and startup of DCS and PLC-based control systems
- Serve as the technical lead on automation projects from concept through commissioning
- Configure and support Emerson DeltaV DCS and DeltaV SIS
- Perform and lead FAT/SAT testing, loop checks, and system startups
- Review and approve control panel and cabinet designs
- Troubleshoot and support live production systems and upgrades
- Work directly with customers to deliver reliable, safe automation solutions
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation as needed

What We’re Looking For
- Senior-level experience in control systems or automation engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV
- PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
- Solid understanding of process control and safety systems
- Experience leading technical work or projects
- Comfortable working in industrial plant environments
- Willingness to travel to customer sites (including occasional overnight travel)
