Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team. Duties

• Receive incoming shipments by inspecting deliveries against purchase orders, verifying quantities, and documenting discrepancies using inventory management software and ERP systems such as AS400 or MRPs.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting products, packing items securely, and labeling packages accurately in accordance with shipping & receiving standards.
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers to load and unload trucks efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain precise inventory records through data entry and inventory management systems; perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with logistics providers to schedule pickups, arrange international trade compliance documentation, and ensure adherence to shipping logistics regulations.
• Support warehouse operations by stocking shelves, organizing storage areas, and assisting with order picking & packing processes for timely order fulfillment.
• Ensure compliance with trade regulations and international trade laws during shipping activities; document shipments accurately for customs clearance.
• Assist in maintaining a safe working environment by following safety procedures during load & unload activities and reporting hazards promptly.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with internal teams and external carriers regarding shipment status or issues that arise.

Experience

• Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics is essential; familiarity with warehouse distribution processes is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using inventory management software, ERP systems (such as AS400), MRP systems, and Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Hands-on experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and order pickers is required; certification is a plus.
• Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment processes, and inventory management practices.
• Knowledge of trade compliance standards and international trade regulations relevant to shipping logistics.
• Basic math skills for accurate counting, measurements, and calculations related to inventory handling.
• Excellent organizational skills combined with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
