Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will oversee the efficient movement of goods through accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. Your expertise will ensure that all shipments are prepared, documented, and dispatched correctly, while incoming deliveries are inspected and stored properly. Responsibilities
- Coordinate the receipt and inspection of incoming shipments, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage using RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by selecting, packing, labeling, and documenting orders accurately using packaging materials and inventory management software.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely to load and unload trucks, move stock within the warehouse, and organize inventory efficiently.
- Maintain precise records of all shipping and receiving activities through data entry in ERP systems such as SAP or similar inventory management software.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations and international trade laws during cross-border shipments.
- Conduct regular inventory counts, stock replenishment, and cycle counts to uphold accurate stock levels.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipping issues promptly and provide updates on order status.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, or logistics roles with familiarity in inventory management software and ERP systems like SAP or MRP systems.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), shipping logistics, order fulfillment processes, and trade compliance standards.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment safely; forklift certification is preferred.
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and calculating weights or dimensions accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail to ensure accurate record keeping.
- Customer service orientation with effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and external partners.
- Prior experience in international trade regulations or customs procedures is a plus.
