Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with automatic transmissions across assigned routes, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Loads are pre loaded freight and driver will be responsible for chaining down load ensuring cargo integrity and proper handling
- Deliver goods to various locations, including work sites, and customer sites, with a focus on timely arrivals
- Manage different types of freight such as oversize pre fab concrete construction material.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance; report any issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery receipts for accountability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any logistical challenges
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; 3 years experience operating tractor-trailers preferred
- Proficiency in driving automatic transmission trucks; familiarity with various over size load types including pre fabricated cement slabs and steel beams.
- Prior delivery driver experience demonstrating chain & strap skills and route driving expertise
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial driving and freight handling
- Excellent navigation skills for route planning and adherence to schedules
- Physical ability to chain and strap cargo after loading; comfortable working in various weather conditions
