Job Overview
We are seeking a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver with the ability to drive manual transmission trucks as well as pull flatbeds. To ensure your qualifications meet our needs and expectations, a driving test will be required on site.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with variety of trucks, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Load, unload, and transport variety of oversized and overweight loads, including equipment, machinery, and other large items ensuring cargo is secured properly for transit.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, telehandlers, and front-end loaders.
- Navigate and execute routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems and following all traffic laws and regulations while driving to meet delivery schedules in a timely manner.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking for mechanical issues and ensuring all safety equipment is functional as well as routine maintenance checks on vehicles.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
Requirements:
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record and prior driving experience
- Must pass a drug test
- Must be at least 21 years of age with flexibility to travel out of state on occasion
- Strong knowledge of commercial truck driving best practices, including truck loading/unloading and cargo handling procedures to ensure proper securement is compliant with safety standards.
- Familiarity in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution.
- Ability to handle manual transmission vehicles confidently and perform manual handling tasks safely.
- Familiarity with FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and safety protocols for transport.
