The Production Control Planner at Husqvarna Construction in Columbia, SC will work with the Planning Team and is responsible for the efficient planning and execution of production schedules, coordinate material requirements, and maintain optimal inventory levels. This position is critical to the company by providing the highest level of customer service through inventory planning.

Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution (50%)
- Create and manage work orders based on forecast, inventory targets, and customer demand.
- Monitor safety stock and reorder levels to ensure material availability.
- Utilize MRP reports and excel models to prioritize production activities.
- Produce Hot Sheets for Manufacturing Departments
- Collaborate cross functionally to align production schedules with operations.
- Proactively resolve material shortages, substitutions, and capacity conflicts.
- Work with Engineering to manage deviation requests and material alternatives.
- Communicate effectively with Buyers, Customer Solutions, and Production teams to align on status and adjustments.
- Monitor and follow up on production plan adherence and delivery commitments.
- Generating and maintain accurate reports including inventory status, production schedules, and backlogs.
- Processing, Printing and Distributing Work Orders
- Support daily and weekly production meetings with real-time data and updates.
- Update and maintain master data, BOMS, and product planning parameters in AS/400 and SAP
- Assist other production planners as required.
- Respond to internal and customer-related planning inquiries in a timely, professional manner.

- Strong knowledge of MRP logic, inventory control, and capacity planning.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel, advanced formulas, and pivot tables.
- Familiarity with Lean or Continuous Improvement Principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or supply chain or equivalent experience as a production planner preferred or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of production planning experience in a production/manufacturing environment
- SAP (PP/MM module) experience a plus.
- CPIM or ASCM/APICS Certification a plus.
- Combination of normal office environment with above average exposure to warehouse/manufacturing environment.
- Heavy computer use and ERP systems (AS/400, SAP, Excel).
- Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
