Mathematics Tutor
*This is an in-person position, working in Clifton Park, NY. It is not a remote position.
Are you a math enthusiast with a gift for making complex math concepts seem simple and inspiring? As a Math Tutor at Huntington Learning Center of Clifton Park, you'll play a pivotal role in helping students build their math skills, boost their confidence, and achieve academic success. Your work will involve providing one-on-one and small group instruction in various mathematics subjects to students of all ages and skill levels.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging instruction in high school level math subjects. In addition, you’ll be helping students prepare for standardized tests like the SAT and Regents.
- Utilizing a diverse range of teaching methods to keep students motivated and excited about learning.
- Taking detailed notes on student progress and promptly notifying our staff of any challenges.
- Cultivating a positive and supportive learning environment.
- In most cases, you’ll work on-to-one with students.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is preferred. Graduate students and teachers are highly encouraged to apply.
- A strong proficiency in high school level mathematics. Algebra and Geometry skills are required; more advanced math skills are desired!
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching is preferred but not required, as we can train qualified individuals on our successful methods.
- The patience and ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels.
- Strong communication skills.

- Individualized lesson plans for each student are provided. All you do is teach!
- Initial and ongoing PAID training is provided
- Extremely flexible scheduling!
- This is a part time role. Many of our part time tutors have been promoted into full time administrative/teaching positions.
- Weekly hours can range from 4 to 25, depending on your availability.
- During the school year, we’re open weekdays 3pm-9pm and Saturdays 9am-4pm. During the Summer, we're open all day.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
