Job Title: Safety Coordinator (Industrial)
Job Summary:
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and enforcing health and safety programs within an industrial environment. This role ensures compliance with all applicable safety regulations while proactively identifying hazards, reducing risks, and promoting a strong safety culture across plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of site-specific safety policies and procedures
- Conduct routine safety inspections of plant equipment, production areas, and work practices
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive measures
- Investigate workplace incidents, injuries, and near-misses; prepare reports and track corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards applicable to industrial operations
- Maintain safety documentation, including logs, permits, and inspection records
- Coordinate and deliver safety training, including new hire orientations and ongoing employee training
- Monitor and enforce the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Support lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and hazard communication programs
- Assist in emergency response planning, drills, and incident preparedness
- Work closely with supervisors and production teams to resolve safety concerns
- Track and analyze safety metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of safety experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or warehouse environment
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety practices
- Familiarity with machinery safety, LOTO procedures, and hazard analysis
- Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Certifications (Preferred):
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
- First Aid/CPR Certification
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) (a plus)
Working Conditions:
- Work performed in both office and industrial/plant environments
- Regular exposure to machinery, noise, varying temperatures, and industrial hazards
- Requires walking, standing, climbing stairs/ladders, and occasional lifting
- Must be able to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, etc.)
Pay: $20.00 per hour
