The VP of Sales will work closely with executive leadership to drive growth initiatives, strengthen market presence, and align commercial strategies with overall business objectives.
VP of Sales Responsibilities:
- Strong technical understanding of gears, power transmission systems, and their industrial applications, with the ability to effectively communicate product functionality, performance benefits, and application-specific solutions to customer engineering, maintenance, and purchasing teams.
- Develop and execute the company’s nationwide sales strategy focused on revenue growth, market expansion, and customer retention within the industrial and power transmission sectors.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales organization while establishing performance metrics and accountability standards.
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key OEMs, distributors, steel manufacturers, and heavy industrial customers.
- Identify new business opportunities, strategic partnerships, and emerging markets to expand the company’s footprint.
- Manage sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports to support strategic planning.
- Provide market intelligence, competitive analysis, and strategic recommendations for executive leadership.
- Travel extensively throughout the United States to support customers, develop business opportunities, and lead regional sales initiatives (approximately 50% travel required).
VP of Sales Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline required.
- 15 years of experience in gears, power transmission products, or related industrial manufacturing industries.
- 5 years of sales leadership and management experience with demonstrated success leading high-performing teams.
- Strong technical understanding of Open Gearing, Enclosed Drives, Gearbox Refurbishment, and related engineered solutions.
- Proven ability to sell to OEMs, distributors, and steel manufacturers.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationwide up to 50%.
- Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Cleveland, OH; relocation assistance will be provided.
