The Financial Analyst supports firm leadership by providing meaningful financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting that strengthen decision-making throughout the organization. The Analyst will partner closely with the Senior Financial Analyst and the Director of Finance to convert financial information into clear, actionable insights.
Financial Analyst Responsibilities:
- Support the annual budget cycle and recurring forecast updates, including headcount planning and revenue and expense projections.
- Contribute to attorney compensation analysis through performance metrics, trend evaluation, and benchmarking.
- Analyze profitability by matter, client, practice group, and attorney (e.g., realization, utilization, leverage, rate performance).
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards that surface key performance drivers.
- Deliver ad hoc analysis and reporting to support management and leadership requests.
- Maintain high standards for data accuracy, consistency, and interpretability across all deliverables.
- Use critical thinking to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within financial and operational data.
- Collaborate with operational and legal stakeholders to understand business needs and tailor analyses accordingly.
- Recommend enhancements to reporting, workflows, and the use of data to improve insight and efficiency.
- Leverage financial and practice management systems to extract, validate, and analyze data.
- Support integrations between financial systems, timekeeping/billing platforms, and reporting solutions.
- Document reporting logic, assumptions, and methodologies to promote scalability and continuity.
- Perform other finance responsibilities and assist with special projects as needed.
Financial Analyst Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis; experience in professional services and/or a law firm environment is preferred.
- Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Proven ability to think analytically, ask strong questions, and clearly communicate insights and recommendations.
- High attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
